Sports Day =D

Sports Day is a tradition in Maktab Sains. I can't see any obvious pattern as to when they are held except Sports Day usually takes place in April. This year, our Sports Day was on Thurday, 22nd April while last year, it was held on my birthday in 23rd April. :D The Sports Day was held in Stadium Balapan.

Pierre de Coubertin believed that competiting in Sports contributes to a more peaceful world because we need teamwork, to win. There are four teams in Maktab Sains which are Panglima :D, Pahlawan, Hulubalang and Laksamana. Athletes, both teachers and students and Performers practised tirelessly for weeks. Preparations were made by the MS ''orchestra'' for the singing of the National Anthem and the College Song and by the P.E Department and a few selected classes for the Aerobics in the beginning of Sports Day. After that, there's the March Pass by representatives of the four following teams and the Field Performance. Then, the athletes compete. Most students don't pay attention to the events, instead they were with friends. =p

This is probably why I love Sports Selections. Everyone were given the chance to compete with their teamates. For the first time, this year in 2010 our Sports Selection took place at our very own field. *clap* :) A lot of students complained about it at first but it was actually fun! (Better than Balapan... At least, I thought so... That was probably due to who I was with. ;D)

For 2010, the champion is Pahlawan. Congratulations Pahlawan! :) For Field Performance, Panglima has been the champion for 2009 and 2010. Congratulations Panglima! :D I'm a Panglima, so I hope in the future, Panglima can be no.1 for both the events and the field performance. So to all MS Panglimas, be ready to take the competition by a storm next year! :D
